Our Methodology

How we review software

App Relauncher exists to help business leaders choose the right software without wading through marketing copy. This page explains exactly how our reviews are produced, evaluated, and kept current — and how we make money — so you can judge our work for yourself.

1. Research from primary sources

Every review starts from primary sources: the vendor's own product, documentation, and official pricing pages, alongside publicly available user feedback on established review platforms such as G2, Capterra, GetApp, and Trustpilot. We prioritise first-hand and official information over second-hand summaries.

2. Evaluate against fixed criteria

Each tool is assessed against the same published set of criteria (below) so that reviews are comparable. We document strengths and weaknesses honestly, including limitations — a review that only lists positives is not useful.

3. Structure for clarity

Findings are organised into a consistent structure — overview, who it's for, features, pricing, integrations, support, alternatives, FAQs, and a clear verdict — so readers can find what they need and compare tools like-for-like.

4. Maintain & date every review

Software changes constantly. Each review carries a visible 'last updated' date, and we revisit content when pricing, features, or positioning change materially. If you spot something out of date, we want to hear about it.

What we evaluate

Every tool is scored against the same six dimensions. Keeping the criteria fixed is what makes our reviews comparable across products.

Core features & capabilities

What the tool actually does, which problems it solves, and where its functionality is genuinely strong or noticeably limited compared with direct competitors.

Pricing & value

Entry price, what each tier includes, the presence of a free trial or free plan, and whether the cost is justified for the target user. Pricing is checked against the vendor's official pricing page.

Ease of use & onboarding

How quickly a new user can get to value, the quality of setup and onboarding, and the overall learning curve.

Integrations & ecosystem

Native integrations, API availability, and how well the tool fits into a typical modern software stack.

Support & reliability

Available support channels (chat, email, phone, knowledge base, community) and, where relevant, service-level commitments.

Ideal fit

Who the tool is genuinely right for — and, just as importantly, who should look elsewhere.

Accuracy & corrections

We check pricing and headline claims against each vendor's official website. Even so, software moves fast and details change. We treat accuracy as an ongoing commitment, not a one-time event:

  • Every review shows a visible last-updated date.
  • Pricing is described as "starting from" and pointed back to the vendor's own pricing page, which is always the authoritative source.
  • Found something wrong or out of date? Tell us and we will correct it — accuracy matters more to us than being first.

Independence & affiliate disclosure

App Relauncher is reader-supported. Some of the links on our site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you sign up for a product through them — at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate relationships never determine our verdicts. We document a tool's weaknesses and note who should not buy it, whether or not we earn a commission. If a product isn't a good fit for a given reader, we say so. Commissions help fund the research and upkeep behind these reviews.
